About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, organized, and empathetic Dental Receptionist to be the face of our [Location] practice. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring their journey—from booking the appointment to walking out the door—is smooth and reassuring.
You will be working in a busy Mixed NHS/Private environment, supporting our clinical team by managing the appointment diary and handling patient inquiries with care.
Your Responsibilities
- Patient Welcome: Greeting patients warmly, checking them in, and ensuring medical history forms are updated.
- Diary Management: Efficiently booking appointments for Dentists and Hygienists using [Software Name, e.g., Software of Excellence (SOE) / R4].
- Triage: Handling incoming calls and emails, prioritizing emergency pain appointments appropriately.
- Finance: Taking payments, handling NHS exemptions, and explaining private treatment plans/finance options to patients.
- Compliance: assisting the Practice Manager with CQC compliance tasks and ensuring patient confidentiality (GDPR) is maintained at all times.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Previous experience in a dental or medical practice is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong background in customer service/hospitality.
- Tech Savvy: Computer literacy is essential. Experience with SOE/R4 is a massive bonus.
- Soft Skills: You must be a great communicator who remains calm under pressure.
- Flexibility: Ability to work occasional evenings/Saturdays as per the practice rota.
